Issues In Clark Mills Addressed

At their third meeting in Clark Mills, the Kirkland Town Board again heard town concerns for them to address.

The Board met at the Kirkland Senior Center last week, as they did in August and will Sept. 21 before returning to the Kirkland Town Hall for their meetings.

About 25 people attended.

A Kellogg Street resident asked for help with a neighbor.

Although turned down by the town’s Planning and Zoning boards to run a business out of his house, he is doing that.

Kirkland Supervisor Garry Colarusso explained that town officials are aware of that but cannot take action because the matter is going to court.

The man is suing the Town to run a business out of his residence.

Colarusso told the man at the meeting that letting the state Department of Environmental Conservation and Department of Transportation know of the matter—the neighbor said big trucks are in and out of the property—might provide some help also.

Senior Center Director Sharleen Machold gave an update on activities, including a tour of Spring Farm Cares and an upcoming sunflower festival.

A Millgate Meadows resident who attended the last meeting and asked for help regarding a tree removal thanked the Board and Kirkland Police Department Administrative Officer Shawn Occhipinti.
