Huntley, Thayer Lead Mt. Markham Class


Victor Zampetti, Mount Markham High School Principal, announced the 2022 Mount Markham Central School Valedictorian and Salutatorian.


Valedictorian is Catherine Huntley and Sara Thayer is the Salutatorian.


Huntley, the daughter of Daniel and Jenifer Huntley of West Winfield, will attend SUNY Geneseo for Business Administration.


She will graduate with 39 college credits having taken College Chemistry, College Pre-Calculus, College French I and II, College Macroeconomics and College American Government through Herkimer College’s College Now program.


Her rigorous course load included AP US History, AP English Language and Composition, AP Calculus AB, AP English Literature and Composition and AP Biology.


Huntley has a long list of awards and activities in and out of school. She has been a member of National Honor Society since her Sophomore year and NHS Treasurer in her Junior year.


She was Class President in her Freshman and Junior years, Class Vice President in her Senior year, a member of Students Against Destructive Decisions in her Sophomore year, a member of the Yearbook Club her Junior and Senior years, Yearbook Vice President her Senior year, a member of Student Council her Sophomore and Senior years, Student Council Secretary her Senior year and a member of French Club her Junior and Senior years.


Huntley received the Top Student Award all four years of high school and the Above 90 Average Academic Award all four years. She received academic awards such as Outstanding Student in: Pre-Calculus, College French, P.E., Global History II, English Honors, Global History I Honors, Earth Science and Geometry.


She also received academic awards such as Clarkson University High School Leadership Award, Elmira College Key Award, Keuka College George H. Ball Community Achievement Award. She was named…
