Housing Project Moves On

At their June meeting, the Village of Richfield Springs Board heard a concern about the Post Office.


Zoning Enforcement Officer Joe Roberts said it takes several days/weeks to have certified mail delivered.


Mayor Richard Spencer said he will look into it. Treasurer Edward Keator updated the Board on the Credit Card policy, and they moved to the next steps.


The Board approved the negative declaration of the Environmental Review for the application of Christopher Community for rezoning.


The applicant will put up landscaping as a buffer between existing residences and the proposed development.


This is for the new West View Heights Senior Housing being built at 14 W. Main St.


Pool-fill credits totaling $553.98 were approved. A leak forgiveness of $158.95 was approved.


The audit by Trustees Robin Moshier and Brian Boss of the Village Court was postponed when Judge Marzeski said he was not prepared and his paperwork was at home.


It was rescheduled to July 9.


Spencer congratulated Richfield Springs Garden Club President Becky Marzeski on being recognized for her years of service to beautifying the village.


At the earlier June meeting, Roberts said complaints need to be on paper or email.

A quote of $15,436 from JPJ’s was accepted to outfit the new pickup truck for the Richfield Springs Fire Department.


Genevieve Melko was the winner of the 148 Main St. contest for best picture.


Her picture will be painted on the side of the building.


A representative from Barton & Loguidice Engineers talked about site plans for a new Fire Department station.
