Free Meals Stay At Area Schools

Earlier this year, the Oneida- Herkimer-Madison BOCES announced an amendment to its policy for serving meals to children served under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for the 2023-24 school year.

This allowed for all children at certain schools/sites to be served meals at no charge.

As of Jan. 1, all school districts participating in the OHM BOCES Food Service Program will serve meals for free under the Community Eligibility Provision following a federal policy change by the United States Department of Agriculture.

This change allows the New Hartford Central School District to now be included in the OHM BOCES School Food Authority CEP group.

The following school districts/buildings will serve meals to all students at no charge for the 2023-24 school year:

  • Brookfield Central School District

  • Clinton Central School District

  • Frankfort-Schuyler Central School District

  • Herkimer Central School District

  • Mount Markham Central School District

  • New Hartford Central School District
