We are excited to announce that, after nearly nine years at UFBC in Unadilla Forks, our Food Sense ministry has moved just three miles down the road to UFBC in Leonardsville, located at 2068 Rt. 8, Leonardsville.
Our first orders taken at the new location will be Monday, May 12, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and Wednesday, May 14, from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
We’ll have Food Sense signage in the windows on the front of the building. Go in the door to the right with 2068 posted above it; to your left, take three steps up; go through the next door; hang a left, and we are the first door on the left.
Food Sense is a non-profit program through the Food Bank of CNY. Anyone can order Food Sense.
There are no income limitations, and no proof of income is needed.
This is a cash-only ministry.
We are not certified to accept food stamps.
There are no restrictions on where you live.
Some of our families have come from as far away as Morrisville with the majority coming from West Winfield, Bridgewater, Leonardsville, Brookfield, Cooperstown,New Berlin, West Edmeston, Waterville, Ilion and Richfield Springs.
Our ministry provides the opportunity for families to purchase quality food at a discount to stretch their food budget. The basic package is $20.50 for approximately $50 worth of food, which includes fresh fruits and vegetables, meats and grocery staples.
There are monthly specials available that are priced separately from the basic package. You may order the basic package, any of the monthly specials, or both.
