Fire Truck Siren Will Be Repaired

Waterville Village Board members agreed to repair the siren on the heavy rescue truck in the Waterville Fire Department.

Also during the meeting last week Board members approved going over the state tax levy increase for the 2026- 27 budget if needed.

No one spoke at the public hearing. WFD Chief Jarod Waufle said the siren on the five-year truck was damaged from road winter salt.

Bids for the new siren came in at $3,600 and $4,500, from the same company, depending on which one is chosen.

Board members said Waufle should choose the one with the better warranty.

Waufle said the new siren will have a protective covering to prevent damage from road salt.

In addition Waufle said the small rescue truck needs new brakes.

The Town of Sangerfield signed the contract with the Village for the Summer Recreation Program.

The two municipalities run the program in partnership each summer.

The agreement for water use is being reviewed.

The Village put in writing what has been the practice with the Town and some residents being customers of the village water system.

A birthday party April 11 was approved for the Community Room.
