Precisionmatics Company in the Town of Winfield on Route 20 is celebrating its 55th year of business.
Precisionmatics Company manufactures precision mechanical parts to customer specifications using CNC (Computerized numerical controlled) machines.
Precisionmatics services multiple national aerospace customers; such as GE Engine and avionic Systems and Collins aerospace, along with being a key supplier to firearms companies.
Precisionmatics was started 56 years ago with three employees.
As industrial technologies improved, investments were made into equipment that would automate production to help with the volume of work from customers.
Fifty-six years later, Precisionmatics operates out of a new facility, equipped with over 75 computer numeric controlled machines, has robotic loading capabilities.
Machinery in place also has laser measuring devices measuring .00001 of an inch and even a paperless environment to control customers’ confidential documents.
Precisionmatics is owned locally by John, Steve and Andrew Pustay.
Employees that successfully attended 52 consecutive weeks of work without calling in from Dec. 1 through Nov. 31 received embroidered company jackets and cash bonuses.
The program started 29 years ago when management decided to recognize employees for not only coming to work but, to do it on a consistent basis for a whole year or more.
As each employee achieves a 52-week perfect record, they become members of the 52 Club.
As employees continue to achieve a year to year perfect attendance they become members of a new club, which represents the number of consecutive workweeks completed with perfect attendance.
This year’s top club members of 10 years or more were Beth Catlin (22 years), Cindy Kobler (14 years) and Greg Huntley (14 years.)
