Mount Markham Central School now has a Special Patrol Officer in each school building. Officer Sean Kozma joins the District and is stationed at Mount Markham Elementary School. The other SPOs, Officers Dave Kirkpatrick and Joe Pedulla, are stationed at the high school and middle school respectively. Kozma previously worked as a corrections officer before retiring in 2016. Prior to becoming a corrections officer, Kozma studied criminal justice at Herkimer County Community College. Outside of work, Kozma enjoys spending time with his wife and children, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and watching his children’s sporting events.
