Election Changes Richfield Lineup

A fairly large turnout of voters in the Town of Richfield will send new leadership to the Town Board in January.

The Otsego County Board of Elections reported 625 ballots in the town during last week’s voting. Richfield was one of the few places in the Mohawk Valley with contested races.

The results:

Dan Sullivan will take over as Town Supervisor, collecting 422 votes to incumbent Supervisor Nick Palevsky’s 153.

Highway Superintendent Tim Proctor was re-elected with 415 votes to 160 for Randy Seamon.

Rex Seamon and Larry Frigault were both re-elected as Town Councilmen, although 282 votes went to other candidates as a write-in.

Keith McCarty remains the legislator for the Otsego County’s Ninth District, garnering 603 votes to 278 for challenge Connie Jastremski.

In Plainfield, with no contested elections, 182 people voted.
