EDF Drops Columbia Solar Project

The Town of Columbia will not have a mega-solar project built in the town by EDF Renewables.

Property owners in the town who signed leases allowing for the solar panels

and battery storage facility on their land received letters in late April calling an end to the project.

EDF had pursued a large solar facility - which would have taken up 2,000 acres, equal to 10 percent of the town’s land - for the last six years.

In the letter, EDF states:

It is with a heavy heart we must inform you we are no longer pursuing the (Columbia Solar Project).
