Dump Truck Hits Wires In Marshall

According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Department, a motor vehicle accident involving a Town of Marshall Highway Department Dump Truck knocked out wires last week.

The driver of the dump truck was going east (down) West Hill Road and forgot to lower the dump box on the truck prior to leaving a job site. Due to this several phone and cable wires in the area were taken down. This also resulted in the dump truck tipping over onto its side.

There were no reports of serious or life threatening injuries. West Hill Road, between Route 12b and Green Vedder Road, was closed for a time.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted by members of the Deansboro Fire Department, state Department of Environmental Conservation Spill Response Team, Clinton Collision, and Spectrum.
