Dedication In Clark Mills For Storm Victims

On June 22 at 7 p.m., the Clark Mills Strong Coalition is hosting a dedication ceremony at the Clark Mills Fire Department.

The Coalition will dedicate the new standby generator in honor of the three people lost during the tornado that ripped through the hamlet one year ago June 22, 2025.

The generator and mandatory firefighter air packs were purchased with money raised through the Preparedness Fund Appeal.

The Legion and Fire Department Chaplains will bless the first responders and the new equipment.

The Coalition is comprised of eight local nonprofit organizations that coalesced following the horrific storm that killed Shelley Johnson and Kenni and Emily Bisson.

Determined to remedy inadequacies that came to light in the wake of the tornado, the Coalition launched a fund appeal, created a safety plan, and increased communication and collaboration.

They are currently planning a Community Day to promote healing among residents and also working to raise funds for a standby generator for their designated emergency shelter at the American Legion.

The public is invited to the Clark Mills firehouse to attend the Dedication ceremony.
