Melissa and Dan Williams, co-founders of Daniel Barden Mudfest – an annual muddy obstacle course race event in Deansboro – presented this year’s event proceeds of $25,000 in a check to Sandy Hook Promise to Daniel’s father Mark Barden. Sandy Hook Promise is a national nonprofit organization founded and led by several family members whose loved ones were killed at the Sandy Hook mass shooting. In the years since Mudfest’s inception, the organization has made over $440,000 collectively in charitable contributions to Sandy Hook Promise and other local nonprofits.
