Brookfield Senior Class Advisor Taylor Tessitore opened her introduction to the BCS Class of 2024 by remembering how she met them the first day of their eighth grade year.
Tessitore said she learned from then on this was a unique class, one where everyone worked hard and had earned their spot on the stage Friday night to graduate and become Brookfield alumni.
She then talked about the class’s Senior trip to New York City, saying how they all stuck together and enjoyed the experience as a group.
Tessitore cried and had to collect herself on the next part.
“They had money to buy souvenirs,’’ she said. “They all bought gifts for other people, not for themselves.’’
The BCS Class of 2024, although one of the smallest in school history, made their mark over the years and also Friday night.
Family, friends, teachers both at Brookfield and those who once taught there all came to send the graduates off with love and support.
Superintendent Ron Pavlus welcomed everyone after the procession, leading people in the Pledge of Allegiance.
One last time, talented singer and senior Kylee Cucci sang the National Anthem.
