The first Combined Alumni reunion has been scheduled.
West Winfield, Leonardsville and Bridgewater have had 50-plus reunions for decades. Every year or two, new classes get added to the celebration.
The Class of 1969 was the last graduating class for Bridgewater HS, Leonardsville HS and West Winfield HS. But, due to Covid, some reunions were cancelled, and they couldn’t join the 50-plus celebrations.
Here we are in 2022, the lockdown is in the past. It’s time for the 50-Plus fun to resume.
It’s a tad late, but welcome 1969 graduates from Leonardsville, Bridgewater and West Winfield.
But wait there’s more!
The first three graduating classes of Mount Markham have also turned 50. Welcome Mt. Markham Classes of 1970, 1971 and 1972.
It makes perfect sense now to bring everyone together: West Winfield, Bridgewater, Leonardsville and Mt. Markham.
Hence the new title: Four Schools 50-Plus Reunion.
The Greater Winfield Historical Society is now the sponsor of the 50-Plus reunions. This year’s new and enlarged reunion is 12 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6 at the Town of Winfield Memorial Park.
Instead of the pavilions and picnic tables, a massive tent with tables and chairs will house the celebration. Food will come from area diners in individual picnic baskets.
Full Circle Barbershop Quartet will entertain us.
We will be accepting donations to cover the cost of the tent with tables, chairs, food and entertainment. If you would like to help defray the cost with a donation before the event, please mail a check to the Greater Winfield Historical Society, PO Box 361, West Winfield 13491.
On the day of the event, the requested donation is $25 per person.
