Columbia Starts Work On Budget

Between the winter requirements and a truck that can’t yet be sold, the Town of Columbia’s 2025 budget will see some adjustments.


At the Town Board’s August meeting, Supervisor Nathan Seamon said the new plow truck will not arrive this year. That means the old one cannot be sold.


Wages for the Highway Department will go over what is budgeted for this year because of plowing, Seamon said.


He will bring some budget line changes to the Board this fall to keep the budget on target.


Town Clerk Therese Winchester said July was busy with a lot of dog licenses being renewed.


Highway Department Superintendent Mark Buddle thanks the towns of Warren, Frankfort, Richfield, Litchfield and Little Falls for their help on Dugan Road.


He and the Board discussed the bid offered for the 2021 pickup truck on Auctions International.
