Columbia Seeks Security Grant
The Columbia Town Board met Sept. 10. The Town Clerk’s monthly financial report for the period ending Aug. 31 was presented.
Fees were collected in August for dog licenses, certified death certificate copies, three building permit applications, and two zoning applications.
A check for $359.04 was given to the Supervisor in early September.
Highway Superintendent Justin Davis said trees have been cut on Richfield Hill Road in preparation for next year’s anticipated paving.
Columbia has helped other towns on their work. While it is the County’s responsibility, the Town has been sweeping loose stone at the intersection of Columbia Center Road and Spohn Road.
Town Clerk Eric Gloo said Local Law No. 2 of 2026, Override the Tax Levy Limit, was mailed to the NY Secretary of State, was filed Aug. 18 and is officially law.
No communication has been received from the NYS DOT on the McKoons Road School Speed Zone study.
Five FOIL requests have been received since the August board meeting.
Codes Officer Steven Gay said the Golden Horseshoe Trailer Park was inspected Aug. 22.
The property owner did not attend. ...
