The Town of Columbia Board took steps last week to improve communications and connections with town residents.
Nathan Seamon ran his first meeting as the new Town Supervisor, with Councilman Ryan Fagan also taking his seat at the Board table since being elected in November.
They joined Councilmen Bruce Learnard and Jim Cotton; Councilman H. Ed Reed was unable to attend. Also at her first meeting was new Town Clerk Therese Winchester.
With the help of the Highway Department crew, Winchester has been organizing an office in the Town Hall on Columbia Center Road.
The crew has been moving files from former Clerk Pat Woytowich’s office, which was at her house.
Winchester said once she is set up, by Feb. 1, she will have office hours on Monday mornings, starting around 7:30, and Thursday afternoons starting at 4.
She has created an email for people to reach her at townofcolumbiaclerk13357@gmail.com and will soon have a cell phone with a number dedicated to town business.
Board members approved the purchase of a new computer for Winchester to use.
