Waterville Central School has announced the Top 10 Academic students for the Class of 2022.
This year’s valedictorian is Eleonore Collins. She is the daughter of Jennifer and David Collins of Waterville.
Salutatorian of the class is Adam Roys. He is the son of Michael and Jodie Roys.
During her time at Waterville, Collins has been a member of the varsity soccer, basketball and track programs. She has been a state Scholar Athlete in all three programs.
As a captain on this year’s varsity basketball team, she helped lead the Indians to the Section Three Class C title. In track last spring she won the Section Three Class C title in the discus. She has also volunteered with the Biddy Ball program.
Collins is a member of the National Honor Society and is vice president this year. She is also president of the Waterville Student Council this year; this year she is treasurer of her class after serving as president of the Class of 2022 in her junior year.
She has participated in the Outdoors Club, 4-H and AAU basketball.
In the fall Collins will be attending Norwich University in Vermont. She plans to major in biology and has been recruited to play on the women’s basketball team for the Cadets.
Also at the military college, Collins will become a member of the Corps of Cadets; if she chooses to join the military after graduation she will enter as a ranking officer.
Roys plans to attend Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute for two years. Roys then plans to transfer to Pratt Institute, majoring in Illustration.
