According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s department on Wednesday, Feb. 2 sheriff’s deputies responded to Clinton High School after several students became ill from smoking a liquid through a vape pen smoking device.
Three students ages 15, 15 and 14 were transported from the school to local hospitals for evaluation and were released. Two other students were evaluated at the school and were not transported.
The exact number of students that used the vape pen is unknown at this time.
The investigation into the contents of the vape pen and the situation surrounding the incident is still pending.
The sheriff’s office was assisted at the school by the Town of Kirkland Police Department.
