CCS Appoints New Principal


The Clinton Central School Board of Education planned to appoint Edward (Eddie) Waskiewicz as principal of Clinton Elementary School at their Board meeting Tuesday.


Waskiewicz will serve as Acting Principal, effective July 1, and will transition into the role of principal Aug. 16. Waskiewicz brings with him nearly two decades of experience in the education field, including several positions within the Clinton Central School District.


Waskiewicz currently serves as Director of Athletics, Safety and Wellness for the Clinton Central School District, a position he has held since July 2022. He joined the district in 2013 and remained until 2019, teaching U.S. history to eighth grade students and introduction to psychology to high school students.


During his tenure, he also worked as an administrative intern for the district from 2018-19.


"It is with great enthusiasm that I have been afforded the opportunity to continue to serve Clinton Central School District as the new elementary principal,” Waskiewicz said. “My passion and purpose as a school building leader is to emphasize the importance of a positive and collaborative school culture that is based on mutual respect. I look forward to working alongside teachers, parents and community partners to provide innovative opportunities that support students’ academic, social and emotional growth.
