Budgets Pass In Districts

With a turnout of 334 in-person voters, the 2022-23 Mount Markham Central School District budget passed by 84 percent.


With a total of 359 voters counting absentee ballots, 297 voted yes and 58 no. About the same margin approved the Capital reserve proposition and 305 votes yes, 49 no, on the proposition for the West Winfield and Bridgewater library budgets.


Mount Markham Board of Education members Philip Casler, with 221 votes, and Robert Cross, with 175, were re-elected. Challengers Gene Doremus received 150 votes and Kathryn Terns 130.


Voters in the Richfield Springs Central School District also approved their proposed 2022-23 budget 136-54.


Tom Shypski and Rebecca Marzesk were elected to the Board of Education for three-year terms.
