Budgets Pass In All Area Districts

Mount Markham, Richfield Springs and Brookfield Central School Districts all had easy passage of their budgets last week.
In Mount Markham, residents supported the budget 265 to 61.
Funding for the Bridgewater and West Winfield libraries passed 266 to 60.
Elected to the two Board of Education seats were Philip Casler, 193 votes, and Dan Griffiths, 228 votes.
A number of voters also put in a write-in vote.
Write-in votes went to Amanda Noll-98, Dan Jones-4, Jeff Maine-1, Matt King-1, Chris Walker-1, Dillion Donley-2, Ken Gates-1, Judge Mezik-1.
In Richfield Springs, the 2025-26 budget passed 183 to 85.
Elected to the two board seats were Becky Marzeski (incumbent), 193 votes and Michelle Zuba, 143.
Corey Grogan received 117 votes.
Brookfield Central School’s budget passed 98 to 23.
Cory Gray was elected to the Board of Education.
Sauquoit Valley CSD’s budget passed 266 to 69.
The diesel bus purchase proposition also passed.
The vote to purchase an electric school bus was defeated.
Lynn Weibel, 263 votes, and Patricia Collins, 262 votes, were elected to the Board of Education.
