Brookfield Highlighted In College Research

Since 2004 Brookfield Central School District has taken part in a study by the University of Albany’s School of Education.


NYKids has helped educators learn about promising practices from other

educators, according to the study.


To date, NYKids has identified promising practices at all levels, with special

attention to schools with above-predicted outcomes among socioeconomically,

culturally, and linguistically diverse youth.


Seven school districts in the state have been the focus of the study over the past 20 years.


Along with BCS, other participants are Alfred-Almond Junior-Senior High, Crown Point CSD, Malverne Senior High, Fillmore Central School, Lafayette-Junior-Senior High and Roxbury Central School.


Brookfield has the lowest enrollment of the study schools and has the highest percent of economically disadvantaged students at 78 percent.


Fillmore is second with 61 percent.
