Locally only Clinton Central School District residents will see a ballot race for a school board seat.
Candidates had to file petitions to run last week for the May 16 elections. District residents eligible to vote will also say yes or no to their district’s proposed budget.
Clinton has three seats available and four people running. The Times has asked all four candidates to answer a few questions for voters to get to know them; responses will be in next week’s paper.
Running for a second term is Sam Catterson. Looking to join the Board with a three-year seat are Rachael Clark, Jeremy Dawes and Patrick LaVeck.
Current Board members Dr. Luke Perry and Kevin Magdon are not running for re-election.
In Waterville Central School, three people are running for the three full terms of three years. Open to a write-in candidate is one year remaining on a vacant term.
Incumbents Tim Jones and Steve Stanton both are seeking another term. Newcomer Justin Barth is also running for the Board; incumbent Steve Turner is not running again.
In Brookfield Bernie Whitacre is running for another five-year seat unopposed.
In Madison incumbent Brett Reiter is running for another term unopposed.
