Birthday Party For Waterville


The Village of Waterville turned 150 years old and celebrated in a huge way.


Hundreds of people flooded the village Saturday from sunrise’s pancake breakfast to sundown’s spectacular fireworks show as part of this year’s Cruise In To Waterville. After last year’s annual event was canceled due to the pandemic, Cruise In roared back in 2021 with all its traditional offerings and then some.


The Mary Cleary 5K Run/Walk, and the Kids Run, moved to the cross country trail at Waterville Junior-Senior High. Other than the bugs that swarmed, the new course received great reviews for being more scenic and safe than along Main Street.


Later in the morning members of Waterville First and the Waterville Village Board joined artist Russell Mason, a Waterville native, in the ribbon-cutting for the mural he designed on the side of the Triangle Bank building.


New this year was a tent set up near the Firemen’s Pavilion that featured Kids Zone activities and the Petting Zoo moved from the Village Park…
