Rerouting of Big Creek starting at Stewart’s Shops in Waterville will happen in the spring.
DPW Superintendent Jamie Bechy told the Waterville Village Board last week that the project being done by Oneida County is in the design phase. The area has been surveyed which will allow work to start soon in the spring once the weather allows, he said.
Once the county does what it can, the village will continue work downstream to the Wastewater Treatment Plant. From there flooding renovations fall to the Town of Marshall.
The Big Creek Commission, formed to allow all municipalities dealing with flooding from the water source, meets in Waterville Thursday, Sept. 21 at 4:30 p.m. at the Village Hall.
Before winter hits a complete paving of White Street will be done, Bechy said. The work will start at the railroad tracks and end at the village line.
