BCS Adds Teachers

As part of its plan to use federal recovery money to address the educational impact of the pandemic, Brookfield Central School hired three teachers to join the teaching staff.


Sarah Viscomi, first grade; Allyson Murray, special education; and Amber Mead, third grade, were hired at the BCS Board of Education meeting last week.


The Summer Pre-K and Kindergarten Bridging staff was appointed as Colby Thall, coordinator; and Sarah Abrams, teaching assistant, for Pre-K, and Samantha Hafelin, program coordinator; and Tammy Cook, teaching assistant, for kindergarten.


Also at the Board’s reorganizational meeting, Bernie Whitacre was re-elected president and Jeff Beehm re-elected vice president. Other appointments included Tiffany Lopesz as business manager, Krist Smith as Office Assistant One, Suzanne Scully as district treasurer and Christa Case as district clerk.


Superintendent Jim Plows and Board member Valerie Nolan, who was re-elected to a five-year term, took their Oaths of Office.


The West Winfield Star and Waterville Times were designated official newspapers.
