Ballot Choices For Nov. 4

Here are the contested races in next Tuesday’s General Election.

All voters will decide on four justices for the state Supreme Court.

Candidates are Elizabeth Snyder Fortino, Candace Randall, John Dillon, Gerald Snyder, James McClusky, Lydia Young, Gregory Amoroso, Patrick Kilmartin.

All voters will also vote on the statewide Proposition.

“An Amendment to Allow Olympic Sports Complex In Essex County on State Forest Preserve Land. Allows skiing and related trail facilities on state forest preserve land. The site is 1,039 acres. Requires State to add 2,500 acres of new land in Adirondack Park. A yes vote authorizes new ski trails and related facilities in the Adirondack forest preserve. A no vote does not authorize this use.’’

Local races For Bridgewater voters, Forest Boshert-Lowe and Mary Austin Pratt are running for the Oneida County legislator spot.

Town of Plainfield has a contest for Highway Superintendent.

Chad Hazekamp and Eric Fletcher are seeking the post. In the Town of Richfield there’s a contest for the Town Board.

Charles Furner, Rex Seamon and Dennis Strk are running for the two seats.

A proposition in Herkimer County asks to extend three terms for county legislators from two to four years.

Two people are running for the Litchfield Town Clerk spot. Michele Crossman and Nicole Edwards are on the ballot.

Litchfield also has races for Town Council. Four candidates are seeking the two seats: Mark O’Sullivan, Ken Johnson, Caroline Entwistle and Terry McKane.

For the remainder of a vacant term on the Council Adam Crossman and Grant Gasstrom are running for the one seat.

In the Town of Winfield a contest for Highway Superintendent is between Dale Brown and Joseph Barletta Jr.

Three newcomers people are running for the two seats on the Brookfield Town Board.

Karen Six, Erick Wilcox and Jayden Weeks are on the ballot.
