Clinton girls hockey tuned up for the playoffs this week with a 5-2 win at Canton.
The Warriors improved to 8-2-3. Clinton, seeded first in the Section Three playoffs, will host No. 4 Oswego at the JFK Arena in Rome Tuesday, Jan. 28 at 6:45 p.m.
The winner goes on to play for the Section Three title Thursday, Jan. 30 at 7:15 p.m. at Cicero Twin Rinks.
At Canton, Kelsey Fuller scored twice. Other goals came from Isabella Callahan, Mia Lopata and Drew Kopek. Assisting were Callahan with 2, Lopata, Brianna Rockwood, Abby Burns and Ari Williamson.
Goalie Hailey Millington stopped 10 shots on goal. Clinton had 20 shots saved.
The Warriors wrapped up the regular season in fine style with their ninth win at Alexandria Bay. Lopata scored twice and assisted once and Brianna Rockwood, Lizzie Battle and Elana Calicchia scored goals also.
Abigail Kurdziolek assisted twice and Mia Eisenut, Finley Davignon and Ella Greico all had assists. Millington made 7 saves.
The team enters the playoffs at 9-2-3.
