Unbeaten Week For CCS Hockey

Sixteen seconds into the overtime period, Dan Frank sprawled on the ice, his chin down on the frozen water.

Frank had just made one of his 18 saves at the Whitesboro Arena and he had a few more in him before the game came to an end. After the five-minute overtime, Frank’s play in goal helped Clinton come home with a tie against Whitesboro, a team that had beaten them in their first meeting.

It was Clinton’s first tie of the season. The Warriors also have nine wins and five losses.

Clinton came back from the tie to win its ninth game, 3-1 over Oswego on Senior Night at the Clinton Arena. The Warriors broke a scoreless first period with a goal by Tyler Karuzas in the first period.

Luke Bouse scored the game-winner in the third period as the Bucs also scored in the final period and Antonio Femia added an insurance goal. Karuzas, Femia, Corbin Melie and Aiden Walter all assisted on scores.

Frank stopped 21 shots on goal, while Clinton took 32 shots on goal that were saved.

At Whitesboro earlier in the week, the game was a showdown between two top teams in the state, with Whitesboro at No. 5 and Clinton at No. 6 for small schools.
