Followers of Brookfield girls basketball might have noticed a slight adjustment to the starting lineup.
In their only game last week, the No. 4 state-ranked Beavers opened their game at Brookfield with the All-sister lineup. Madilyne, Marissa and Megan Kupris and Jaelyn and Lily Vleer-Elliott took to the court to start their league game vs. Cincinnatus.
The sister crew spent three minutes on the floor before the other seven players who do not have a sibling on the team began getting their court time. Everyone got in on the action as Brookfield improved to 12-0 with a 58-13 win and stands as the only girls team in Section Three without a loss.
Coach Doreen Rogers kept the game from being more of a mismatch by subbing five-for-five throughout the game. The Beavers, the only team in the girls state Class D rankings with a dozen wins, walked the ball rather than employ their usual fast-paced offense. Ten players scored for BCS.
