The final drawings will be done soon for the Village of Waterville’s sewer plant upgrade project.
At last week’s Village Board meeting, Mayor Gene Ostrander said a recent meeting with those involved n the project agreed they are almost ready to go over the final drawings. The $2.5 million project could start by June 1, DPW Superintendent Jamie Bechy said.
To supervise the work on behalf of the village, the board agreed to hire former Wastewater Treatment Plant operator Louie Langone, who retired last year, to be the clerk of the works.
Also during the 30-minute meeting, board members and resident Jim Younes discussed upcoming meetings to learn about financial help for residents and municipalities from damage during the Halloween night flooding. FEMA decided not to provide aid to individuals who lost property from the flood.
