Clinton Warriors Lose Two Games


Clinton boys ice hockey opened the season at the Bethlehem High School Tournament.

The Warriors lost to host Bethlehem 1-0 when the Eagles scored the game’s lone goal in the second period. Goalie Josh Trask stopped 18 shots for Clinton.

In the second game CBA of Albany won 2-0 with Daniel Frank in goal making 18 stops.

Brookfield boys:

The Beavers opened the season at the Richfield Springs Tournament with a 79-35 win over Remsen.

Kodie Abrams led the BCS scoring with 20 points and Kaden Ondrako scored 18, with four 3-pointers. Caleb Worden scored 13, Preston Crespo 10 and Jonah Rogers and Colt Morgan with 8 each for the win, which included a 34-point third quarter.

In the title game the Beavers lost 48-32 to host Richfield Springs. Abams led the team with 8 points, Ondrako had 7, Rogers, Crespo and Morgan all had 4 points, Worden 3 and Derek Winfield 2.

Richfield outscored Brookfield 33-13 in the second half.

All-state selection:

Gianna Trunfio, a junior forward on the Clinton varsity field hockey team, earned All-state honors as one of 15 players chosen from Section Three.

Trunfio and Clinton earned their fourth straight trip to the sectional championship this year.

The 15 players came from all schools in the section that play field hockey.
