Some area cross country runners qualified for the state meet at SUNY Plattsburgh Saturday.
Clinton girls finished third in the Class C meet paced by a fifth-place finish by Madison Luke. Taylor Harvey took ninth, Paige Luke 14th, Emily Hemstrought 25th, Finley Davignon 33rd, Rebecah Bashant 37th, Sophie Boucek 41st, Sadie Davignon 50th, Leah Borton 52nd and Piper Davignon 96th.
Waterville boys took fourth in Class D with senior Dylan Williams finishing fourth overall. He was the only non-Beaver River runner to place in the top 7. Payton Hirsch was 25th, Nikko Recchio 26th, Gabe Williams 31st, Rocco Padula 45th, Logan Misiaszek 51st, Hunter Meddaugh 114th and Michael Machold 166th.
Josh Drake of Madison was 87th.
Clinton boys finished 15th in Class C, with Morrison Powell finishing 73rd. Joey DeTraglia was 78th, Andrew Wieder 100th, Richard Hughes 101st, Nick Fostini 102nd, Bart Hearn 130th, Anthony Devasto 150th and Matt Cancilla 162nd.
Waterville girls competed in Class D, where Lydia Snow finished ninth overall. Brooke Wilson was 16th, Ella Stuttard 39th and Alexis LaFever 40th.
