Win A Car And Help Feed Kids


On the night of Nov. 29, someone is going to be the new owner of a 2016 Dodge Challenger.

The vehicle, repaired after slight damages when a tree fell on the garage of the car’s only owner, will go to the lucky ticket holder of the Waterville Area Food Pantry’s raffle. Tickets are on sale through the night of Friday, Nov. 29, when the winning ticket will be pulled at the Waterville Firehouse after the Parade of Lights.

Tickets are $20 apiece with a maximum of 2,000 to be sold. The car is valued at $24,800 because of needing repairs; otherwise, its value is $38,000. The new owner will pay taxes on the $24,800 value.

Food Pantry member Mary Beth Plourde said the money raised will go 100 percent to buying food for the pantry’s users. That includes the 155 students at Memorial Park School who take part in the Weekend Warriors backpack program.
