Barton Gift

Waterville attorney Bill Getman, a trustee with the Barton Trust Fund, hands a ceremonial check for $100,000 to Darlene Stromstad, president and CEO of Mohawk Valley Health System at the MVHS Waterville office on Madison Street. The Barton fund provided a significant sum of money to help people in the area, Stromstad said, through the renovations. Waterville native Edward Barton always thought the village needed a health care office, Getman said, and the Trust, which began in the early 1990s, has been used to benefit medical care and much more since. The renovations allowed for the consolidation of the Main Street office into the Madison Street building.
