Bringing Respect To Final Moment

Dewey Treen earned 25 cents an hour working for his grandfather on Saturday mornings.

With his $1 for the four hours, he would attend the Saturday matinee in Waterville, go back Sunday and have money for snacks.

Treen, 79, turned that work with his grandfather in Waterville Cemetery into a career that spans almost 55 years. He will retire at the end of the month, and turns the reigns of keeping the cemetery running smoothly over to his own grandchildren.
