The Waterville Village Board voted to update parking regulations at last week’s meeting.
A public hearing prior to the vote focused on a proposal to eliminate a right-hand turn off Tower Street onto Route 12. Due to sight-distance and the nature of the curve on the hill, vehicles making that turn frequently go into the Route 12 southbound lane.
Trustee Brian Bogan said he was not in favor of eliminating the turn as it would increase traffic on Madison Street.
Resident Art White, who owns Main Street Auto on that corner, said he spoke with the state Department of Transportation about that turn and the bump-out near Stewart’s. White asked for the bump-out to be removed.
