CCS Grad Earns College Degree

Katie Getman chalked up a number of successes before she graduated from Mohawk Valley Community College last month.

The Clark Mills resident, daughter of George and Karen Getman, earned an A in every class but one. That 3.94 grade point average qualified her for Phi Theta Kappa, the college’s Honor Society, and to wear the Honor Cord as a Distinguished Member at commencement.

She also joined the college’s women’s lacrosse team and earned her certificate in scuba diving as one of her required college phys ed classes.

Getman will take her two-year degree and next move on to Syracuse University, where she was accepted into the prestigious Newhouse School of Communications to major in graphic design.
