The memory of former Clinton mayor Jack Lane, along with his son Geoffrey, was celebrated in the Clinton Village park June 4 with a dedication of the park bench where the pair spent many quality hours talking and listening to music from the Stone Presbyterian Church across the street. His successor as mayor John Crossley led the ceremony, while Lane's niece Lara Nash from Barneveld offered her remembrances of her uncle as a Clinton High School graduate, Vietnam War Marine, shoe repair shop owner, village trustee, and finally mayor until his death June 3 last year.
