Waterville varsity track hosted a Rookie meet for Center State Conference varsity track athletes who are sophomores and younger last week.
Clinton and Waterville athletes participated, as did track and field competitors from Cooperstown, Westmoreland, Sauquoit Valley and Dolgeville. Points were given for first through sixth places.
Clinton varsity coach Norm Deep said the event gives athletes who might not typically compete because of older athletes getting starting spots.
