No Surprises In Village Elections Last Week

Without any contested races, elections in three local villages had low turnout and expected results.

In Waterville, trustees Brian Bogan and Doug Plourde were re-elected. Bogan had 36 of the 41 votes cast and Plourde had 37. One voter wrote in Barney Fife and Andy Taylor (from Mayberry on the television show The Andy Griffith Show) for trustees.

In Clinton, four current village board members were on the ballot, but all were unopposed. Mayor John Crossley and Trustee Steven Bellona each received 70 votes, Trustee Thomas Firsching had 68 and Trustee Carrie Evans 67.

Fifteen people came out to vote in Oriskany Falls. Doug Smorol was elected a trustee with 15 votes and Aimee Cornish was re-elected with 12 votes.
