Village of Waterville board members adopted a 2018-19 budget that keeps the tax rate at current levels.
At last week’s Village Board meeting, the board voted 5-0 on the $939932 general budget, as well as the water budget of $291,745 and sewer budget of $347,123. the tax rate will remain at $11.10 per assessed $1,000.
Budget approval came after a public hearing with Sangerfield Town Supervisor Lorena Lenard bringing up features of the village’s budget that she said negatively impact the town’s budget. Specifically, Lenard said an increase in the equipment line for the Waterville Fire Department will mean the town will have to exceed its tax cap for the 2019 budget.
