Show Me The Gold!

The Clinton Figure Skating Club, one of the oldest figure skating clubs in the country, presents its 68th annual ice show March 23, 24 and 25. Friday and Saturday shows are at 7 p.m. and Sunday’s show is at 1 p.m. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door. Using this year’s Winter Olympics for inspiration, the show will highlight the Olympics themselves - Opening ceremonies and gold medal winners - and the various cities which have hosted the Winter Games. Seventy-five of the Club’s members are participating, said Club board member Michelle Batson. Angela Martino will be the soloist in a number featuring a Gold Medal performance. Show chairperson Brenda Rogowski said the theme was set in the summer and all numbers and costumes assigned in the fall, with intense practicing since then. Highlight of the show will be the Select Number, called The Journey, which shows a skater’s journey from first steps on the ice to Senior Year. Performing in this, with the help of Coach Nicole Goodelle, are skaters Tammy Lloyd, Tayah Hummel, Angela Martino, Jessica Martin, Isadora Flemma, Bianca Siepiola, Ellie Batson, Katelyn Potasiewicz, Clara Kelly, Paige Haggerty, Amanda Bolos, Callie Savicki, Ella Kelly, Rylee Volz, Elizabeth Bolos, Rebecca Barry, Delanie Roberts, Jillyan Strain, Grace Fenton and not pictured, Renee Potasiewicz. To prepare for the Show, go to the Club’s Facebook page and see the journey the torch made to arrive in Clinton in time for the performances.
