Work Begins On Bisby

The Village of West Winfield Board met Monday night to discuss new business.


The Board approved a resolution authorizing the payment of vouchers.

The Board approved a resolution approving a five-year BAN for $25,000 for repair work on Fire Rescue Truck 512.

The Board approved a resolution approving a salary increase for Office Clerk Assistant to $16 per hour.


The Board held a discussion about installing car electric charging stations and consulting with MVEDD to lower the costs by NYSEG.


The Board held a discussion about scheduling a budget meeting Feb. 16.


The Board held a discussion about finding a potential leak in the water system.


The Board held a discussion about contacting the State for repairs on Route 20.


West Winfield Fire Department Chief Sean Murphy said the department responded to 659 calls in 2025.


In December, the department received 7 calls and 20 for medical.


Medical evaluations for the department are next month.


Preventative maintenance on trucks is starting and pump testing scheduled.


The ambulance has been sent to Whitesboro for alignment.


The Board approved a resolution increasing a member’s salary to $28 per hour for taking on Medical Supervisor duties.


An Ambulance service contract with Madison County was signed for 2026 for $8,471.


Seventeen residential permits were issued with four commercial permits issued for 2025.


Sixteen permits were completed and there are six permits open in the Village.


Work is beginning on the front floor of Bisby Hall with blinds installations and painting scheduled to begin.


Boardmember Carl Wheat said the Clean Energy Community Committee will be meeting in January and February.
