Winfield Weighs Purchase Request

The Town of Winfield Board met Wednesday night to discuss new business and hold their reorganizational meeting.


New Town Supervisor William Miller introduced Chris Osborn to speak to the Board about purchasing land from the Town.


Parks Commissioner Bob Royce said Osborn would need a driveway permit and Codes Officer Mike Connors explained the process to procure a driveway permit.


Boardmember Jay Kulczak gave a short explanation of how to purchase land from the Town.


The Board discussed the plan for the land and asked for more information.


The Board advised Osborn to contact Herkimer County first as to whether a driveway permit or easement would need to be issued.


The Board approved a resolution approving the General Fund Claims and the Highway Fund Claims.


The Board approved a resolution accepting the Supervisor's report and the Clerk's report.


The Board approved a resolution approving the December meeting minutes as

amended. The Board held a discussion about hiring a Dog Control Officer.


Miller discussed organizing and retaining only essential information from the backlog of Town records.


Boardmember and Parks Commissioner Bob Royce decided to step down from the Parks Commissioner position because of a conflict of interest.


The Town will be advertising to hire a new Parks Commissioner.


Codes Officer Mike Connors said 22 permits were pulled for 2023. ...
