Winfield Updating Book On Zoning Regulations

The Town of Winfield Board met Tuesday night to discuss new business.


Dan Clark spoke with the Board to discuss the Town providing funds for the purchase of materials to build the barbecue Pavillion in the Town Park.


The Mount Markham Optimist would reimburse the Town.


Clark said the Town purchasing the materials would be tax free and save total costs.


The Board agreed to pay for the purchase of materials when the cost information is available.


The Board approved a resolution approving the General Abstract and the Highway Abstract.


The Board approved a resolution approving the Supervisor's report and the Clerk's report.


The Board approved a resolution approving the February meeting minutes after a short discussion.


Highway Superintendent Dale Brown reported the Highway Department is doing proactive maintenance on all the Town equipment.


A new door for the 2017 Freightliner is being painted at Color Chromatics.


The Department is working with Big Apple to get the Town Park cameras working along with a Wi-Fi hotspot.


Brown called the CHIPS department about the Town's funding for the year, saying the total amount was around $280,000 minus the $116,000 for the new tractor purchase.


Brown said the 2013 Freightliner is in need of repairs and suggested paying for the repairs to allow it to be road legal and then sell it.


The Board approved a resolution to purchase the parts for repair.


Boardmember Mike Peo asked about truck inspections.


Brown asked the Board their preference on purchasing new sand.


Town of Winfield Supervisor Bill Miller said two quotes for fuel were received. The Board took no action on the quotes.


Miller said Adirondack Bank is setting up Town Officials to be able to sign checks.


The last payment for the loader was covered by this month's abstract.
