West Winfield Sets Rules On Removal

The Village of West Winfield Board met Monday evening to discuss new business.


The Board approved a motion to pay October's bills, and a $100 Flow Test bill. The Board approved a resolution accepting October's minutes. The Board approved a motion to accept the Treasurer's report as presented.


The Board approved a resolution signing affidavits for $8,769.06. The Board approved a resolution adopting a Best Value Law.


The Board approved a resolution adopting the Snow, Rubbish, Trash Removal policy. Boardmember Sandy Smith said the point of the law is to prohibit residents of the Village from moving snow to their neighbors' property.


The Fire Department answered three fire calls and 36 ambulance calls during October. Ladders and hoses were inspected. West Winfield Fire Department Fire Chief Don Sterling said about 800 feet of hose failed inspection.


Smith said the grant application for the ramp to Bisby Hall needed to be resubmitted. Smith added she's noticed more feral cats throughout West Winfield and is contemplating a solution.
