Warriors Win Over Mustangs

The Mount Markham Mustangs and Clinton Warriors battled in the rain and cold Thursday afternoon with the Warriors prevailing 3-0.

The Mustangs' all-out, no-quit style pushed the Warriors to take advantage of the opportunities they could get. Clinton’s Danny Frank opened up the scoring by finding the net in a crowd of players as both teams fought for possession of the ball in front of the Mount Markham goal.

Clinton made it 2-0 soon after when Sam Costanzo made a ridiculous shot from the left side that went in the upper right of the goal.

Clinton's Jakob Whitfield scored the third goal in the second half as the teams played competitive, aggressive, but sporting despite the weather.

The Mustangs continued to fight through the final whistle, but Clinton locked in to keep the Mustangs out of the scoring column.

Clinton started the week with a 3-2 win over Sauquoit Valley. Seamus Gale, Anders Quintano and Jack Saunders all scored unassisted.

Goalie Landon Stilz stopped 8 shots in that game, and had 7 saves vs. the Mustangs.
